Peat-forming plant community / Rushida Pond Campsite / Ecosystem Conservation Museum and Aqua-Im
Rushida Pond is a crater lake with a circumference of approximately 4 km located within Rushida Pond Prefectural Natural Park. Surrounded by seven outer rim mountains at elevations of around 450 to 500 m. It was registered as a national natural monument in 1921 and designated as a Ramsar Convention-designated wetland in 2005.
The pond has nearly 300 "floating islands" of peat. On the west side, there is a wetland, which is a habitat for rare species. In spring, cherry and plum blossoms bloom, and in fall, visitors can enjoy the autumn colors of the leaves. A campground has also been established, making it a popular tourist destination. |

The lakeside is also home to a campground surrounded by ponds and mountains, as well as tourist facilities such as Aqua-Im, a facility that also exhibits freshwater fish. |
